DESIGN COMPETITION WINNER HONORS THE MARINE CORPS

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE MARINE CORPS

QUANTICO, VA

BOLD, EXPANSIVE LANDSCAPE REFLECTS ICONIC MUSEUM ARCHITECTURE

The museum’s design evokes the image of the flag-raising at Iwo Jima, and the landscape design conveys the Naval heritage of the Corps through the use of bold, geometric landscape gestures. The landscape of the Museum is representative of a Marine base, and is juxtaposed to the natural landscape within the adjacent Memorial Park.
