IMPROVING CAMPUS IDENTITY BY ENCROUAGING SOCIAL ACTIVITY

NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY MASTER PLAN

LAS VEGAS, NM

A HOLISTIC FRAMEWORK FOR THE FUTURE

The 2010 Master Plan focused on improving the image and identity, creating outdoor environments that encourage interaction and activity across the campus, and defining the enrollment capacity of existing and future buildings. Analysis of campus academic buildings has indicated potential for significant enrollment growth capacity in existing buildings. Additional efforts are ongoing to create design guidelines for campus open spaces and landscape; to identify public/private partnership opportunities to encourage economic growth for both campus and the Town of Las Vegas; and to establish a parking program to further improve walkability. With the success and clarity of the Campus Master Plan, studioINSITE has been retained to update the Plan.
